For optimum photo quality, there are of course a few things you should bear in mind:
// Good light
Good lighting is the be-all and end-all. It should be neither too dark nor too bright. Especially when there is a lot of sunshine, it is advisable to avoid shadows on the subject.
Tip: Activate the flash on your phone to better illuminate a dark subject when taking photos. This will ensure that the subject is clearly visible.
// Bad light
Poor lighting conditions are a thing of the past thanks to our integrated flash function.
To do this, open the "Camera" function in the bottom bar of the app. You are now in scan mode and can activate or deactivate the camera light on your smartphone by tapping the flash icon .
Note: Using the exposure function also reduces the phone's battery life.
// Good angle
For the best recognition, you should photograph the weed or disease exactly from above - i.e. at a 90 degree angle. This way, the details are best visible and you avoid distortions. Simply leave the weed standing and do not pull it out of the ground.
// Good distance
For the best result, the object should be in the foreground. If there are many disturbing factors, such as other leaves or plants in the picture, it will be difficult for the image recognition. So try to have only soil in the background for weeds. To identify diseases, you can, for example, hold the affected leaf of the plant in your hand to stabilize it a little and move it into the foreground.
// Good quality
Blurred and unfocused images significantly impair image recognition. To prevent this, tap the weed once - the object is then automatically focused.
